WEST LINN, Ore. — From Saturday, Nov. 11 at 9 p.m. until Sunday, Nov. 12 at noon, southbound I-205 will experience lane reductions and ramp closures in Oregon City and West Linn. These temporary changes are needed for crews to perform concrete pours for new columns that will support an earthquake-ready Abernethy Bridge. Drivers should plan for delays because only one travel lane will be open across Abernethy Bridge.
In addition to lane reductions, the loop on-ramp from OR 99E to southbound I-205 will close with signed detours, and the off-ramp from southbound I-205 to OR 43 (Exit 8) will also close with signed detours.
The overnight timeframe avoids impacts on weekday peak hours, which have higher traffic volumes, but we know these changes will be inconvenient. We appreciate everyone’s patience while crews work on the first earthquake-ready interstate bridge across the Willamette River in the Portland region.
We anticipate there will be another set of lane reductions and ramp closures involving northbound I-205 in mid-December. We’ll share additional information about the December event closer to the date.
We encourage drivers to sign up for project-related email and text message alerts.
