West Linn I-205 Northbound On-Ramp Detour Starts Friday, July 21
WEST LINN, Ore. — The West Linn I-205 northbound ramp detour from OR 43 northbound begins at 10 p.m., Friday, July 21 and runs through Friday, August 4. This detour route has been used multiple times in the past and we encourage drivers to use caution in the area, slow down, and follow the detour signs.
The I-205 northbound on-ramp detour is necessary for ODOT crews to finish construction on the new roundabout that will connect OR 43 with I-205 northbound. This project is one of the critical safety-related improvements to the area, and it will also help reduce congestion and improve the flow of traffic.
Coming in August: New Detours
Additionally, beginning on Friday, August 4 at 10 p.m. the off-ramp connecting I-205 northbound with OR 43 will close through Monday, August 28. OR 43 will also close during this time in both directions from Willamette Falls Drive to I-205. This closure will involve two detour routes for northbound and southbound traffic. Once the detours are confirmed we will share this information with the public.
This schedule will allow the work to be completed before Labor Day and the first day of classes for West Linn High School students. ODOT is working with local jurisdictions to minimize impacts on local streets, including partnering with the Oregon State Police for extra assistance.
We encourage drivers to keep informed of construction-related travel impacts by signing up for email and text message alerts.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and attention to safety during construction. When construction is complete in 2025, the Abernethy Bridge will be the first earthquake-ready highway bridge across the Willamette River in the Portland metropolitan area.
